Special
Pals is a private, non-profit charity making it a 501 (c )
(3) non-profit organization. Special Pals is a Selective limited
intake shelter.
Our mission
at Special Pals is to make the world a better place for healthy
cats and dogs by providing temporary shelter, healthcare, an
alternative to euthanasia, adoptive homes and education to
the community about the responsibilities of pet ownership and
the importance of spaying and neutering
Special
Pals has been operating in the Houston area for over 30 years.
The shelter's original location was on Bellaire Blvd. In the
mid-90's, the shelter moved out to it's current location on
Greenhouse Road near Katy.
The shelter
facility sits on over 3 1/2 beautifully wooded acres and provides
shelter to approximately 100 dogs and cats.
The staff
maintains the facilities and cares for the animals 7 days a
week. Our wonderful volunteers work daily either "hands on" with
the animals or away from the shelter at at fund-raising events
or related projects.
ADOPTIONS
Special Pals is open for dog and cat adoptions.

- Fri Noon until 3 pm
Sat
- Sun Noon until 4 pm
If you are
interested in adopting a pet, please arrive at least 30 minutes
before closing to allow time for the adoption process which
includes an application and an interview.
If you need
information regarding an injured animal or placing a stray
or abandoned animal, please check our of list of Rescue
Organizations.
