During surgery we use Isoflourane gas, injectible anesthesia, separate sterile packs, and dissolvable sutures. Pain medication and antibiotic injections are given to each animal. During preparation, surgery, and recovery, pets are constantly observed with heart/pulse monitors. Comforters and heating pads are used to regulate body temperature and keep your pet comfortable.
We may also micro-chip your companion while they are under anesthesia for an additional fee.
Your companion animal will be given injectable pain medication at the time of surgery. Special Pals will dispense another dose of oral pain medication to be given the following day (no charge).
The Special Pals staff loves every companion animal, but for the safety of the staff and other animals in our care, we reserve the right to refuse service to aggressive animals. Feral cats must arrive in a trap. Call for feral cat pricing and information. We do have traps available to rent.
There may be additional charges due to factors that cause the procedure to take longer than normal. These charges include, but are not limited to:
- In heat/lactating/obese
- Dog: $ 30
- Cat: $15
- Pregnant: $25-$35
